Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitar player and music artist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and first female recipient. Alongside the nine Grammy awards, she was also the first musician of Indian origin to present at and perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is one of the Indian young sitar star. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in London, she spent the beginning of her career traveling between London and New Delhi. Her first performance took place at New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. Later the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just an teen, has enjoyed a successful performing and recording career. She regularly accompanies her father on stage, which she has been doing for quite a few years. In 1998 she released her first single album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. She's performed in all important venues across the world. Anoushka Shankar's career is not only limited to performing in music. She published Bapi The love of my life in 2002. It is a biography that pays tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. In addition, she appeared in. in the 2003 movie Dance Like a Man, where she portrayed the role of a Bharat Natyam dancer young girl. Anoushka Shankar is currently a rising superstar and her fame is expected to continue growing. Anoushka is a native of England however, she spent the majority of her childhood split between London and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and attended the high school there. In Delhi on his birthday, which was celebrated at the age of 75 Anoushka first made an appearance as a sitar player before the crowd of just four years after her 9-year-old father. Her father traveled around across the world with her and she gained many experience. When she was still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. As a tribute to her status as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
